Lavinia Nau is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor who is deeply passionate about the process of rediscovery, helping clients challenge unhelpful patterns to create meaningful, lasting change. Seeing clients both via telehealth and in-person at the Beverly/Morgan Park office, Lavinia works with adolescents, young adults, adults, families, college students, and professionals. As a compassionate and direct clinician, she specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, relationship issues, life transitions, stress management, identity development, young adult concerns, and family reunification, as well as navigating custody disputes and supporting domestic violence victims. To help clients build emotional regulation and self-awareness within a safe, structured environment, she utilizes a culturally responsive and intentional approach, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based therapy, psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused therapy, and positive psychology. Lavinia balances deep reflection with practical tools, providing a nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly heard while gently challenging them to move past what keeps them stuck. Guided by her personal motto—“No matter how it starts, healing is shaped by what you choose to do next”—she empowers clients to build the resilience necessary for a more fulfilling, authentic life. When she’s not working, you can usually find Lavinia cooking, doing pottery, reading, or discovering another culture by traveling and connecting with locals.
